At Eni, we are looking for a Production Shift Superintendent within Coral FLNG S.A. in offshore Mozambique. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the plant. You will also assist in developing the operations management system, participate in the selection and recruitment of department staff, and act as Control Team Leader during emergency situations.

Your employment contract will be managed by Eni International Resources Ltd (EIRL).

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for achieving production targets in terms of productivity, efficiency, availability and output.
  • Coordinate with upstream Field Operators to maintain the feed gas supply required to maximise LNG production within the FLNG facilities’ capabilities.
  • Participate in monitoring loading activities and managing tasks necessary for the safe and efficient loading of export vessels from FLNG.
  • Review and comment on operating procedures to ensure their correct and safe implementation within the shift operations team.
  • Produce shift reports detailing production levels and test results.
  • Ensure shift operations are adequately manned by competent personnel at all times.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department for the execution of maintenance activities to minimise plant downtime and ensure availability and readiness of critical equipment.
  • Participate in defining scope of work, developing procedures, preparing reports and executing production shutdown activities.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through active participation in the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety procedures ensuring their application within the shift operations team.
  • Act as the Approval Authority for PTW (Permit to Work) and be responsible for safe working conditions on site in accordance with PTW procedures.
  • Conduct emergency drills to test system and personnel responsiveness.
  • Provide operational training to individuals and small groups according to CAMS.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the nature, specificities and operational requirements of the Company.

Skills and experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Gas Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or Science.
  • Extensive Oil & Gas industry experience, including significant LNG operations exposure, with proven experience in a supervisory or senior position.
  • Strong experience in LNG manufacturing processes; FPSO and offshore operations experience is an advantage.
  • Solid safety management experience and a professional level of emergency response capability.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and process troubleshooting for operational issues.
  • Experience in advisory or mentoring roles to develop team capabilities.
  • Effective leadership and team-building skills, including cross-cultural collaboration.
  • Excellent technical skills and equipment knowledge.
  • Strong safety awareness and a proactive attitude towards safe work practices.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent command of the English language (verbal and written) and computer literacy.
  • Strong understanding of business aspects.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to explain technical and financial information clearly.
  • Organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation, coaching, and interviewing skills.
