We are seeking a Supplier Development Advisor to support the implementation of Local Content and supplier development initiatives for a major Oil & Gas project in Mozambique. The ideal candidate is a strategic, analytical and highly driven professional capable of elevating local supplier capacity, coordinating stakeholders, driving performance, and ensuring compliance with Local Content requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate supplier development programs, capacity-building initiatives and readiness activities.
Evaluate supplier capability, performance gaps, risks, and opportunities for development.
Lead data collection, dashboards, and reporting for supplier-related Local Content metrics.
Develop presentations, briefs, materials, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure alignment of supplier development activities with procurement, contracts and project execution plans.
Facilitate engagement with local suppliers, government entities, and contractors.
Organize supplier events, workshops and meetings to improve supplier readiness and compliance.
Monitor contractor Local Content plans and performance requirements.
Support government reporting, audits, inspections and Local Content submissions.
Maintain databases and records of supplier performance, Local Content indicators, and development initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of Supplier Development and Local Content priorities.
Provide strategic insights to leadership regarding supplier capability, risks and progress.
Minimum Requirements
University degree in Economics, Law, Business, Development Studies, Social Sciences or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Supplier Development, Local Content, Procurement, Contractor Management or related areas.
Experience in the Oil & Gas, Energy, Construction or Mining sectors preferred.
Strong understanding of Mozambique’s Local Content legislation and supplier landscape.
Proven experience leading supplier capacity-building initiatives or development programs.
Strong analytical, reporting and presentation skills.
Excellent communication skills in English and Portuguese (written and verbal).
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders (government, suppliers, contractors, internal teams).
High level of organization, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel regularly to project sites (Pemba, Palma, Afungi).
